The still-new-to-Chevrolet Multi-Flex tailgate option, which you may know by its GMC name, MultiPro, is spreading to more Silverado models for 2022. Last year, the MultiPro tailgate was made available on the light-duty Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and rebranded as “Multi-Flex;” now, for 2022, Multi-Flex is available on the Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD models. Unlike on the Silverado 1500, where Multi-Flex is restricted to higher trim levels, the fancy tailgate will be offered on every HD Silverado pickup truck.
What Exactly Is the Multi-Flex Tailgate?
It is a six-way tailgate that can be set in a fully closed position; another where just a little section near the top of the tailgate drops down (this same piece acts as a step in a later configuration); tailgate up with the top section dropped but with a little flap raised to hold longer objects in the bed; fully dropped; fully dropped with the aforementioned step element lowered; and fully dropped with a divider raised up.
Pricing for the Multi-Flex tailgate on Chevrolet’s Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD models is forthcoming; on the Silverado 1500 LTZ model, it’s a $260 option.
